Jason needs a very experienced collie owner who is prepared to make sure they are ‘boss’ with him and not take any nonsence from him! Jason was adopted from us a couple of weeks ago – but has been returned because the family cannot cope with him – he is a very lively, active collie – so please bear this in mind if you wish to offer him a home. It is such a shame he has been returned, as he really hates the kennels – so we hope he finds another family very soon Poor Jason was removed from a home where he was suffering abuse and violence, and where it wasn’t only the dog that was being treated in this way. He was taken in by a foster home while the necessary legal steps were taken, and although he was a very timid dog at first, he soon bonded very well with the fosterers. He remains wary of strange men, but comes round with gentle and kind handling. To make sure he was ready to cope away from his original foster home, and to prepare him to come to DBARC for rehoming, he was then moved to a second foster home where he was immediately confident with the wife, but did take a few days to accept the husband, so he will need an understanding new owner. Jason is brilliant with other dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes, and would do well as a second dog with a steady spayed female to give him confidence and an example to follow. He would not be suitable to live with children as they would worry him. Jason will make a very loving and loyal dog once he has bonded with his own special person. He will need lots of walks and love, and company most of the time.
