Staffy and a Bullmastiff mix as a strong and sturdy looking dog.
They have short coat and colors are usually fawn, brindle or white with spots.

Staffy x Bullmastiffs are great family dogs that get along with children and other dogs, they just need to be socialised properly.

From Moira: My beautiful Fawn, who is now 15 months old. I was told she was a Staffy Bullmastiff Cross but everyone said she didn't look like a mastiff - even the vet said that. I was so happy when I looked the breed up on the internet and found out that's exactly the breed she is. She is a beautifully natured dog and is such a loving and loyal companion to me. She is usually obedient and caught on very quickly. One thing I haven't been able to get her to stop is pulling on the leash. When she has had a run and is puffed, she doesn't pull. I had to get one of those Halties and she sure doesn't like that. She is a real lady and she gets lots of affectiion from me

This is Franky when he was 4 months weighing in at an impressive 17.5kg! He is very affectionate and very intelligent too. He loves cuddles and playing with my other dog. He gets on well with kids and other dogs. although destructive when home alone without the tv on... if the tv is on.... he's fine.... go figure... He snores like mad and has terrible flatulance and a wheat intolerance but I wouldn't be without him. Steven and Sarah supplied this lovely pic and info.

This is Storm she is 3 years old. She is very loving, caring and intelligent. She loves to cuddle up to our 5 year old son and plays with other dogs in our park. People jump to conclusions about this particular breed of staffy cross bullmastif saying they are aggressive dogs, this is just NOT the case. They are a very loyal and intelligent breed and when trained correctly a great family pet. This photo and info was sent in by Sean and Jaimie Tierney

This is Tootsy at 9 weeks old. Her mum is bullmastiff x and her dad is a papered staffordshire terrier. At 9 weeks tootsy is already proving to be a very loyal and gentle dog, she gets on great with the kids and other dog's even the cat and chicken's. I love her to bit's . Thank you Sally Engley for sharing.

Georgia (Worcestershire, England) sent in info on her Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Bullmastiff Cross: She is about 40cm tall from shoulder to ground, her head width is between 6 and 7 inches (at the widest points). She weighs around 24kgs. Would appreciate hearing your views on what you think she is crossed with. . Her temperament is brilliant with ppl, HORRENDOUS with other dogs hence the muzzle. Good with strangers if we introduce them to her but barks if somebody comes to the door if we haven't spoken to them first.

This is Scooby at 10 weeks old his mum is 3/4 Bullmastiff and 1/4 Staff and his dad is a full Bullmastiff he is the friendliest dog I've ever known stops to be stroked by every one, loves other dogs and is now 12 weeks and is learning commands very quickly just got to learn that my socks arn't for chewing lol . HELLO, HERE IS LUCY A 7 MONTH OLD STAFF/BULLMASTIFF. SHE IS SO LOVING, FRIENDLY,AND SHE LOOKS AFTER US, IF SHE HEARS A NOISE AT THE BOTTOM OF GARDEN SHE WILL BARK TO WARN THEM OFF, THEN RUN TOWARDS US TO SHOW US SHE IS LOOKING OUT FOR US. A BEAUTIFUL VERY SOFT DOG.SHE LOVES OUR OTHER STAFF CHARLIE, AND GINGER THE CAT. Thank you Jodie O'Hagan

My staffordshire mastiff is now 3 years old and is completely opposite to the generalised stereotypes they suffer from. He has been completely trust worthy with the family children and adores my doberman they commonly share beds, food, bones, toys and walks. He also gets on famously with my cat, although he likes to Chase them to him its a innocent game, and often gently play fights with the cat, often provoked by the cat.He is a blonde /teddy bear colour with white colouring on his chest. He is also a lively breed and enjoys hours of playing but is very responsive to certain actions. For example when he needs calming he responds effectively to a simple belly rub. Sweet and affectionate and has surpassed all my expectations of him, never would I have imagined a staffordshire mastiff would be do loyal and friendly. Sent in by K Gadam

This is Jed. He is a 4 year old Bullmastiff cross staffy, we got him when he was 6 weeks old. He is the most loyal, loving and caring dog I could ever ask for. He knows many tricks and learns them all in 5 minutes. He loves jumping and has jumped up to my hip. He licks away my tears and knows when I am having a bad day. One of his favourite games to play is where I blow up a baloon and put some dog treats in it, he will play with it bouncing it in the air with his nose for ages, and when it eventually pop’s the treats go flying and he has to find them. I love him so so much and he knows it! Kalia J

Hi i have just bought a staff x bullmastiff and she only 5 month old but she has a skinny head and id quite skinny i was wondering if she will grow up to be quite big
Hi I have a 2.5-year-old staffy cross, his mum was staffy x australian kelpie, dad was staffy x bullmastiff. He is brindle, short hair, with black mask and tail tip and feet and a white blaze on his chest. He has golden eyes and a long, agile “pump-handle” tail.
He is epically handsome, exceptionally intelligent, and extremely people-focused. He has separation anxiety as he is such a people dog, but I have had him since 6 weeks of age and spent a great deal of time socialising him – taking him to obedience classes and to the dog park on weekends to get him used to other dogs and to taking direction (as he is a bit dominant and pushy). He sleeps on the couch and does pester and beg for food during our family meals but I have trained him to only take food on command and along with the obedience training this makes him accept our authority in the “pack” despite his dominant instincts.
He is very very sooky and cuddly, yes he loves his belly rubs and will groan with pleasure when he gets scratched! He will sit on my lap in the lounge room and in the car, and he insists on sleeping on my bed with me!
He also likes to make his own independent decisions about things – while he is not possessive of food, bones, or toys (another training effort that I made), he does not always come on command. I understand that bullmastiffs were bred to make independent decisions when tracking and bailing up intruders on large tracts of land in England, so I guess this may be where he gets it from. I have had to develop trust with him on this front, i.e. learn how he thinks and when to just let him do his thing, as he will never really be 100% completely controlled as it is not his nature.
He does not drool despite his having jowls, and he does not really smell unless we feed him awful cheap food (e.g. if we are travelling and that is all that is available). He gets cold in winter (needs a jacket or he shivers) and hot in summer as he has no “undercoat” and he does moult quite a bit even though is hair is quite short. He LOVES water and will happily spend hours chasing the sprinkler or the hose, or swimming in big tubs of water or the beach, or in creeks and dams in the country.
He does burp and fart a lot and has a corn allergy that causes rashes in his armpits, groin, and neck (unfortunately corn is used in a lot of dog foods, even the top brands like science diet). But this is not a problem as long as I monitor his diet. He also gets skin rashes from an allergy to certain plants so I have to watch that as well as i can be quite painful and irritating for him and risks infection, but generally he is fine. Sardines and/or a fish oil supplement on his food is very good for his skin and coat.
He gets on extremely well with other dogs and people because I have socialised him well, however he does chase cats, possums, and birds.
Overall I would not be without him – he has changed my life and I never would have thought a dog could be so attentive and intelligent but he really does have an instinct that is almost human.
I thoroughly recommend this cross breed as an affectionate companion, but you must be firm with them, train and socialise them properly, and not leave them alone for long periods as the stress and neglect is not good for this breed and they can snap mentally.
If you invest the time and training required you will have one of the best companions you could ever wish for!
one week ago my husband was on his phone internet stuggling to find anything that made sense when an advert for mastiff x staff appeared….it was so out of the blue we had to meet him…a couple of hours later the most sweetest daftest hansom chap entered our home…. he is the most gentlest dog ive ever met…hes taken to school every day the kids and parents were a bit unsure at first and would pull there kids away but now both kids and parents greet him with gusto which he adores….he loves attention soooo much and gives sooo much back……he hates birds and squirrels….and snores louder than my husband so most nights i get it in stereo….he loves visitors and senses when people are unsure and wont leave them alone until they change there mind….he adores kids especially our 6 yr old boy jack who feeds him…there is no aggression of any type either with food or bones or toys….he adores my disabled mum who sneaks him crisps she thinks we dont know…..are family is now complete we feel blessed thanks hooch
i got a staffy mastiff cross from our local rescue centre he was 4 months old and had been roaming the streets alone since a very young age when i got him his legs were all deformed and crooked but that soon changed with a good diet and regular exercise he is the most adorable cuddly boy who loves tummy rubs and lots of food he worships my kids and my 2 yr old jack russell terrier they sleep eat play and get into trouble together by the way his name was cuddles when we got him but we thought naahhhh thats not a name for a big dog like him and my husband called him torres because he loves to play (eat) footballs i have had dogs all my life and he is by far the most lovable he even tries to sit on visitors knees for a hug but he does get jealous and cries for attention and he snores and farts really bad but i love the way he happy moans when getting hugs or strokes some people mistake it as growling but its not it is just his way of letting us know he is happy

Fawn, who is pictured above, is now 23 months old and the joy of my life. She is such a good companion to me and we still go for 2 walks a day. She just loves other dogs, but is a bit wary of strangers which is good. She is the one above by the plant on my patio.
