A cross between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund. The body is usually long and legs short. Forehead is wrinkled and the ears are big. The coat can be short or medium length.

Chiweenies could have back problems due to the long back of a Dachshund. They could also have some problems with housetraining, little accidents even if the dog is well taught.

Chiweenies have independent spirits, so you’ll have to be firm with them. Other than that, they are quite easy to train. They are extremely family oriented and love their owners more than anything. They need to be socialized to children early on though, otherwise they could get shy or fearful. After a day full of exercise and games, your little Chiweenie will curl up to your lap.
