CROSS BREED PROFILE: Chug (Chihuahua x Pug Cross)
A Chihuahua and a Pug mix. Chugs are small and they have short coat. Tail is usually curled like a Pug”s. The color can be anything.
They don’t have as many breathing problems like Pugs, since they usually have a longer snout.
Chugs behave well and are easy to train. They are intelligent and good family dogs. They love their owners and don’t like to be left alone for long periods of time. Chugs don’t like to be outside, especially if it’s cold, and they need very little exercise.
Do you have a Chug? If so, please write a comment and tell us about him or her.
We would also like you to send in any photos of your Chug so we can add them to this profile for our readers to share with you.
Email photos to info@getsetpet.co.uk with the words “Profile Chihuahua x Pug Cross” in the subject line. Thank you.

so glad i looked up the photo of the chug. we have rehomed an adorable female pug cross and i wasent sure who she was crossed with. but looking on the images i found her double, even though he was male!. honey is the sweetest, she is so loyal and affectionate. not sure about her past as she is wary of young children but she is very relaxed at home. she loves her toys and is close to our other pet pud the cat.
Hi! Thanks for this post, I now know what to call my dog’s breed. I have a male 3 yr old chug named papu, he’s one of the most intelligent dogs I know. He was actually given to us when he was 1 yr old and since he’s been caged a lot, he’s had some temper problems. But in time he’s accepted us as his new family. He’s very easy to train and extremely loving. I think the only downside is that he barks excessively whenever he sees people whom he thinks will take something from the house, he’s very possessive with his toys and the people he loves.
With regard to his health, breathing problems rarely happen, but when it’s cold, he shivers a lot.
I think this breed is very adorable and I hope to see more people appreciate them…
