We where looking for a new dog to add to our family. My wife and I searched for months to find the right dog. We could not find a chocolate lab at the time that was in our price rang (below $1,200) but a breeder told us about a guy who had springer lab mix puppies. I was not wanting a mixed breed so i did some research on them. Well needless to say we went to the breeder and came back with 2 puppies. These are the best dogs i have ever owned. They are retrieving well, they do great wiyh my 3 kids, on top in their obedience class, and just a joy to be around. I recommend this breed to anyone. My buddie has a pure bread lab and after seeing mine and how they are he went out and purchased one.
Hunter is a truly incredible dog. Out of his litter he was the only black and white one, the rest were brown and black. He climbs pine trees, sometimes twenty feet up, chasing birds. He has saved many of our horses from the West Nile virus by staying up for days straight keeping them from laying down and dying. He chases his tail, follows around toddlers making sure they don’t get into trouble and barks if they get too close to any danger. He has a vertical jump of over five feet, thus pens do no good to keep him contained. But we live in the country, so he is a free dog. He never runs away, just patrols the borders of our estate. He is 11 years old and still can run as fast as in his prime, although he gets sore. He is a cuddler and is completely house trained and has never bitten anyone. He comes and wakes us up if he has to go to the bathroom when we keep him in on cold nights. We never trained him formally, just 5 minutes here and there. We brought him pheasant hunting and he taught himself how to flush and retrieve the birds. And he can hold a piece of bacon on his nose for 20 minutes without blinking.
At 14 weeks old ours is just finding his feet. He is Clumsy, a bit of a dope and will eat/chew anything that isn’t nailed down.
However he’s been great with the cats, he’s mastered simple obedience training in less than a week and makes us laugh constantly.
Looking forward to our first walk this weekend.
My granddaughter just rescued a lab/spaniel mix puppy and since she has no place to keep her, brought her to us. What are we going to do with her???” we live on a farm with a river running in back of the house, we have chickens and cats, horses, deer, and coyotes that love to come around hoping for a meal. Will she bark and run them off? How will we keep her in? does anyone have any ideas?
My Labradinger is the smartest dog I have ever owned or known.(I’ve owned all pure bred Labs prior) I purchased her because I wanted a medium size dog , but still wanted a retriever. She is so wanting to please,an outstanding retriever, and a very nice temperment. ALL family and friends can’not get over the intelligence, athletic ability. and commands this dogs performs. She is of Springer Spaniel size, has a Springer Head, but is black like her dad. I have trained her off a leash to heel perfect whether it is walking or biking. I My daughter who is now 10 (Kobe is 7) are inseperable. I will never get another breed of dog now that I have discovered this hybryd. She is so smart it amazes my wife and I. I bought her as a good family dog as I quit hunting years ago, but she would be a TOP NOTCH bird dog big time. She would be a hunters dream for her stealth, brilliance and determination. She is the opposite of gun-shy. I highly recommend this dog to anyone .
I have two springadors/labradingers and they have the best temprement ever. They have one mission in life and that is to make everyone happy. Daisy is chocolate springador and is 5 years old, climbed the three peakes, Snowdon, Scarfell, and Ben Nevis. Ghillie is black and 18mths old and a bounding bundle of fun. They are complete oposites to look at though Daisy has short legs and a thick set body, While Ghillie is tall and athletic body, somebody once said he was like David Beckham. Handsome, Athletic, full of energy and enthusiasm but definatley not brain of britain. would recommend the breed to anyone.
We had a great Labradinger (but we called her a Spanglador). Best dog ever and very cute. We were lucky to find her in litter at a shelter as a 6-week old pup. Now I am looking for a breeder. If you are one or know of one, please contact me. officemanager@capitolintegrity.com
Just got my first Labradinger yesterday, an 8 week old puppy from the shelter. I’m so excited haven’t had a puppy in years. hehe Ok he kept me up most the night but that’s ok. Looking forward to years with my new Best Friend!
Maui, our labradinger is a wonderful dog. She is very obedient and loves to please us. She has seperation anxiety but other then that she is the perfect dog. She loves little kids and lets them throw the ball for her. She loves any attention she can get. Very easy to teach new tricks to. And very cuddly.
Summer, our springador for 10 years, was a wonderful dog that loved children and people. She spent many hours visiting the elementary school and nursing homes comforting and playing ball with anyone she could charm. She demanded space from other dogs though and would often not allow them to approach her. She didn’t bark often but had many different vocalizations for when she was hungry, wanting to play, wanting a walk or missing my wife when she was out. She was an outstanding hunter and the smartest dog I’ve ever known.
