What sicko in Worthing did this? I am speechless!

Pet pig Buster was stolen, beaten, and shut in a burning car in Worthing

A PET pig called Buster was stolen from a field, beaten and shut in the boot of a stolen car which was set alight. The RSPCA is investigating the “unimaginable” cruelty which unfolded on Sunday night (April 26).

That night, three-and-a-half month old sow Buster was in a field in Kingston Lane, East Preston, with a mare who is due to have a foal.

The RSPCA say the pig was stolen and then beaten with a pole, tied up and shut in the boot of a stolen car before the vehicle was set alight.

The pig’s owner Kerry Saunders, who lives in Findon, arrived on Monday morning (April 27) to discover someone had put a saddle on the mare and tied electrical cable around her head to use as reins.

The saddle had slipped below her and was hanging down.

Buster, a black and white Berkshire, was missing, but there was a scaffolding pole with blood on it nearby.

Later, a stolen black BMW was found in Bruce Avenue, Worthing, with the trussed-up body of Buster in the boot. The car had been burnt out.

RSPCA inspector Tony Pritchard said: “This poor pig was clearly beaten with the pole, tied up and thrown in the boot and then set alight.

“The cruelty is unimaginable. We would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about this.”

Owner Kerry said: “This pig was our pet, together with her mate. I can’t believe what has happened to her.”

It was Worthing firefighters who found Buster in the boot of the burning car just after 8am on Monday (April 27). The car was parked in a car park at the rear of the Worthing Working Men’s Club.

The police and the RSPCA were then alerted and launched an investigation.
